Generally, a completely collapsed sewer pipe cannot be lined. CIPP lining requires an existing pipe that still provides a continuous pathway for the liner to be installed and inflated.
Minor offsets, cracks, or isolated sections of damage may sometimes be repaired before lining, depending on the condition of the pipe. However, if the sewer line has fully collapsed, severe bellies, large missing sections, or extensive structural failure, excavation and pipe replacement are typically required. A sewer camera inspection is the best way to determine whether trenchless pipe lining or traditional replacement is the appropriate solution.
